Plus Too

Two words and plus several meanings too. As we prepare to wrap up this year, we’ll look back at the year that was and preview what’s ahead here on “Becoming Today”.

What a year it was. For many another of nothing like they ever expected. I know it was for me. Despite a few unforeseen challenges, even as positive as I was heading into “20/20 +1”, the past 12-months far exceeded anything I was dreaming of.

While many spent the time looking backwards wanting to go back to the ‘good ol’ days of 2019’, those of us on this shared path were focused forward, sensing an improving momentum.

No matter which way you saw and experienced it I think we can all agree it sure flew by.

It was exactly a year ago today when I first extended an invitation:

The time keeps slipping into the future….. And I hope it will be a glorious New Year for you. As we prepare to view this past year with 20/20 hindsight, beginning Friday January 1st, we focus on “Becoming” in 20/20 + 1.

I’ll also explain why I’m looking at the coming year in that way.

In the meantime. Enjoy. Celebrate. Stay Safe. Be Responsible.

At that time when I committed to being here for you six times a week somehow that didn’t calculate for me what turned out to be the 317 conversations we have shared.

Oh in case you’re doing the math I did publish one bonus edition on the 4th of July.

Now as I look ahead to the year that we are about to begin together I look forward to at least that many.

Today I also want to take time to introduce the New Year as I see it.

I realize the banks and governmental entities will insist upon you noting it as 2022. I joked at the beginning of 20/20 +1 that, “ Now I don’t know if others will adopt my new phrasing of this year, but I suppose ultimately we’ll have to see if the bankers will accept it,  when I start dating my checks that way”.

And they did not. I wrote it that way and had one returned, so at least I only did it once.

However this year in myvision and on all non regulated documents I will see and mark as simply, “+2”.

When I revealed why I referred to this past year as I did I wrote:

Obviously the plus sign (+), means in addition to. So I’m taking 2020, viewing it through perfect vision intended for revision and seeing it as 20/20 plus. Plus what? Well immediately it’s plus one (1). We have already, with the mere flip of a calendar page, advanced beyond 2020 and are becoming one more.

Now further from the events that caused a great reset in 2020, yet we are still learning how to cope with it’s lingering effects. While we are literally two  years from where we were, there is so much more as I have plus too – several other reasons why I’m electing to use this descriptor.

The first is you.

Yes you too, have a role in our greater purpose as we shared during this past year:

“Coming together as independent individuals, sharing a planet, and intentionally setting our combined focus on becoming the strongest, most empowered God-fearing women we can be; it is vital we set these objectives, hopes and shared visions in writing, to make them truly achievable and to hold each of us and the “we” accountable”.

Along the way we also picked up a few more men than I expected “plus too”, the reach was far more international than I originally anticipated. Proving that when we are accepting of one another, we share common desires despite borders or perceived differences.

It was a point I certainly accepted as enlightening.

Plus (reason) two, is we still have so much “Becoming” to do.

We have made strides and I know personally I have “Become” even more than I initially hoped for heading into the year. But that’s the thing about “Becoming”. The more you become, the more you want to become.

Plus too, “+2” reveals you are never alone. There are always others sharing this path here for you.

Tomorrow when we start the year together I’ll reveal what will be a recurring theme for the coming days, weeks, and months that a year from now we’ll celebrate in review.

So whether you see it as “+2”. Or plus two, or plus too; I hope you too will see the pluses and share the benefits of continuing along our shared path we call “Becoming Today”.

Have a happy and safe New Year’s Eve and we’ll  talk again, when the calendar page above by my desk is flipped and reveals the year of “+2” has officially begun.
